Brother Knights
The 12th of March Father Paul arranged for a Lenten retreat with the focus on the first 5 books of the Old Testament. There were 40 participants in this retreat and it went very well. I am sure next year will have an even stronger attendance from the Knights than this year had. Thank you to all those who attended.
The membership drive was the 12th and 13th of March and we collected 30 names and we have had a number of gentlemen voice an interest in the Knights of Columbus since the drive. I am very thankful to Father Paul for his support and very kind remarks during Easter about the Knights support of St. Cecilia’s Church. We are all working together and I must thank all the Knights who helped out during Easter and did what needed to be done.
The open house scheduled for the 21st of March was postponed due to the Chrism Mass on the 21st at the Cathedral. Our priests made it very clear that the Knights should be at the Mass.
It was a very special Mass with over 100 Priests including our own Father Paul, Father Henry and Father Frank.
Our Open House will be on the 11th of April at 7:00 p.m. and as I am expecting approximately 25 guests, I hope and pray that most of our Knights of Council 4878 will be there to encourage all of these young men to become Knights and members of our Council to further the work initiated by our past Priests and especially the work being done by Father Paul Raj.
My thanks to all the Knights who helped with the Way of the Cross on Friday the 25th. I am especially grateful to Brothers Dan Barth and Kevin Lopresti who have been helping at our Church throughout the Easter Triduum.
Congratulations to Brother Ronnie Timonera on his becoming a Knight in the 3rd Degree on the 20th of March, 2016. Welcome Brother Ronnie to Council 4878
Thank you Brothers all. Christ is Risen. Alleluia Alleluia.
